The communities in which we operate are hugely important to us. They are where our employees and our future employees live. While many Forterra employees are active members of their communities, organising and participating in activities and events, we want to make it easy for local charities, clubs and groups to approach us directly for support. For many years, we have championed construction colleges, providing much-needed materials for bricklaying courses to support the next generation of bricklayers. We are now taking this one step further and are inviting colleges to apply to become one of our Construction Hubs. As well as receiving a donation of bricks, they will also receive London Brick branded merchandise and the opportunity for their students to gain valuable exposure to some of the industry’s leading experts. Forterra recently took part in DIY SOS’ latest project for Children in Need, a complete renovation of the Treetops Children’s Hospice in Risley, Derbyshire. Having donated our Bison Precast beam and block flooring system to the project, Forterra celebrated the finished hospice’s grand reveal, which was hosted by DIY SOS’ own Nick Knowles.
